Students at UP Mass Comm ham it up for the website | Welcome to the College of Mass Communication, home to two of the Commission on Higher Education's Centers of Excellence in Communication Education! Many of today's luminaries in Philippine mass media have walked through our halls as students and teachers. And many more of them are now perhaps right within our classrooms preparing to make their mark in the national, as well as global, media and society. Our College started as the Institute of Mass Communication, which was established by Republic Act No. 4379 on June 19,1965. It was formally founded as an academic unit on August 23,1965, and was elevated to college status on April 28,1988. We, the faculty and staff of Mass Comm, envision a society that is egalitarian, participative, and progressive through the development of media that is socially- responsible, critical and vigilant; liberative and transformative; and free and independent. | |
